Here it is, baby! The truth you don’t want to handle.

Warning: It’s safer to go back to mainstream media where you can look the other way as America slaughters the world.

Aaaaaargh!

Please lie to me, Walt. I’m begging you. Please give me a quick fix of The Little Mermaid now! Tell me that we Americans are always the good guys and that the rest of the people of the world are a pack of suffering animals who require Americans to bestow our beautiful democracy upon them.

Haiti’s Resurgence

What is the solution for Haiti?

The situation looks impossible, but of course it is not impossible.

Countries succeed for definite reasons; countries fail for definite reasons.

And Haiti’s failure has nothing to do with Vodou, Baron Samedi or any of the other colorful characters in its native religion.

Haiti’s poverty is not a moral failing.

Vodou is misunderstood.

Haiti’s poverty is a result of slavery and exploitation.

First, Haiti must be its own man.

The days must be over when Haiti is exploited by alien nations like France and the United States.

Haiti must throw the foreigners out.

All of them.

No longer will Levi Strauss be permitted to rape the people of Haiti in its textile mills, which are de facto slavery plantations.

The other textile and apparel giants must be similarly treated.

We can say the same for the miners of vital minerals.

What this means is that people in the United States and the world will have to pay a little bit more for their Levi’s.

Since there is now total chaos in Haiti, economic progress might best be achieved by following the Mondragon model of Spain.

In this model there is a chance that if everyone shares in the wealth more equitably, there might be less violence in Haiti.

The violence and ensuing lack of stability is coming about because there is such disparity in wealth.

This does not mean that all people should be equal within a worker’s paradise, but that Haiti should strive to be more equitable.

Clearly, the IMF has to go.

Loans that Haiti owes to the World Bank and the IMF must be refinanced to a large degree.

It will be impossible for Haiti to recover if it has to pay back huge debts.

Quite frankly, the loans should be wiped off the books. Haiti has already paid many times over for the money that was borrowed – and then stolen by the puppet rulers who were installed by the French, and then the Americans.

Haiti has paid through slavery and indentured servitude.

If anyone should pay back the debt, it should be the corporate criminals at Levi Strauss.

Easing of debt, lessening of foreign influence, and greater sharing of wealth is a reasonable and achievable start to Haiti restoring itself.

The United States with its financial interventions cannot do that.

It cannot do that because the United States, which is controlled by the corporations, always wants to attach strings that ultimately strive to preserve the slave state in Haiti.

No, Haiti must be its own man.

Tis better to be your own man standing upright with dignity than a subservient dog on your knees at the feet of the United States.

Sincerely,

Archer Crosley
