Waging Peace

Is there some reason on God’s green earth why we cannot wage peace instead of war?

I don’t get it.

If we need to, why don’t we pay defense contractors and other corporations to not foment and participate in war.

You heard me right. Why don’t we pay them not to make armaments.

We pay farmers to not grow crops, so why can’t we pay corporations to not wage war?

I’ll go you one better.

Why don’t we pay arms manufactures and corporations to make everything that they need for war, bundle it up, put it on the USS Ronald Reagan, float it out to the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and dump it off?

What’s the difference between dumping all that junk in the ocean and wasting it on war?

There’s not a dime’s worth a difference because the wars we fight don’t benefit us.

In fact, by not fighting the war there would be more of us alive.

Somehow we are going to have to get off this addiction to war.

If we’re not going to act on any of those two solutions, then why don’t we pay the manufacturers to re-tool so that we can build things that we need here in the United States.

We can make a deal with the corporations: you’re not going to lose a dime. We are going to pay you the money that you got before for waging war plus an extra 10% in order to make things that we need here in the United States.

Is there some reason why we can’t do this?

I need to be educated.

Sincerely,

Archer Crosley
