Just the other day, another policeman was sentenced to jail for the death of George Floyd.
The policeman, Tou Thiao, after his conviction was asked to make a statement.
After his statement, the judge, Peter Cahill, stated in so many words before he-pronounced his sentence, “Well I was hoping for a little more remorse.”
This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard a judge say this.
It seems to be a common refrain, amongst judges, yet … the judge’s statement is illogical
Why should Tou Thiao feel any remorse at all given that he pled not guilty to the crime.
Indeed, if he had shown remorse in his statements, after being convicted, that would indicate to me that his plea of not guilty was a fraud.
Does this make sense to you?
Only a person who would feel guilt would show remorse. In that case, that person would plead, guilty, which Tou Thiao, most certainly did not do.
Again we heard these comments from the judge in the Lucy Letby case in England.

Just the other day, Joe Biden showed up in Hawaii to view the devastation in Maui.
The citizens of Maui were outraged because Joe Biden had not appear earlier.
There were many protesters at Joe Biden‘s appearance on Maui.
Many protesters carried signs that said, “Fuck, Joe, Biden,”and ‘No Comment.”
Apparently Joe Biden had stated “No comment” during one of his press conferences regarding the fires in Maui.
My response: who gives a fuck?
Why should the citizens of Maui, give one solitary fuck whether Joe Biden shows up at their catastrophe or not.
Is Joe Biden going to personally pick up a shovel and clean up the mess.
No.
Is Maui going to receive more federal funds now that Joe Biden has shown up?
No.
Do symbolic gestures necessarily work?
No.
In fact, there’s probably more harm done by having a president show up.
Having a president show up, puts people in the mindset of needing a savior in order to fix their problems.
That’s one of the problems we have in our country today: savior syndrome.
Too many people are relying on a savior – whether that be Biden, Trump, or Obama – to magically fix their problems
What’s needed is greater self reliance and trust at the local and state level.
Sincerely,
Archer Crosley
