Here it is, baby! The truth you don’t want to handle.

Warning: It’s safer to go back to mainstream media where you can look the other way as America slaughters the world.

Aaaaaargh!

Please lie to me, Walt. I’m begging you. Please give me a quick fix of The Little Mermaid now! Tell me that we Americans are always the good guys and that the rest of the people of the world are a pack of suffering animals who require Americans to bestow our beautiful democracy upon them.

Shared Destiny

What can Israel do to make peace with the Palestinians?

Should we give up hope?

There’s always hope, but hope is going to be in short supply as long as the leadership of Israel and Hamas continue its toxic ways.

Benjamin Netanyahu has been the Prime Minister for a long time now, and what he and his cronies have created is a toxic waste dump within Israeli society.

Currently Israelis dance in a giddy state of euphoria upon learning of. Palestinian deaths.

The same can be said, for Hamas.

When this recent carnage is over, not only does Hamas need to be cleaned out, so does the Israeli leadership – in totality.

Both leaderships need to be replaced by adults.

What is desperately required between Palestinians and Israelis is bridge building.

Palestinians and Israelis have to see each other as indispensable to their own economic survival.

They could begin by borrowing a page from the leaders in Mexico and the United States who created a maquiladora program on the border between their respective countries.

A maquila is a twin plant with a facility on each side of the border where the manufacturing is on one side, and the administrative machinery is on the other.

Traditionally, a maquila exists to take advantage of cheap labor, but that doesn’t necessarily need to be the case in Israel.

Nor does it have to be set up whereby one plant administrates while the other provides cheap labor.

Better power-sharing arrangements can be constructed.

Some variation of a maquiladora might be the ticket t to building a bridge between Israelis and Palestinians.

The leaders of Israel and Palestine don’t have to build a 500,000 foot manufacturing facility to begin with; they can start small just to get the ball rolling.

They can begin with a popsicle factory.

Popsicles are fun. Who doesn’t like popsicles?

Place a factory on each side of the border. The Israeli factory makes the sticks and wrappers; the Palestinians make the treats and assemble the final product.

You get the idea. It’s just an example.

In such a venture Israelis and Palestinians view each other as indispensable to their prosperity and happiness.

Why bomb the popsicle factory when you would just be shooting yourself in the foot?

A shared economic destiny would be a good deal for all.

Everybody would come out a winner.

In time a few more products could be added.

People would begin to forget about the bad days and focus on the good ones.

Popsicles are better than bombs.

Sincerely,

Archer Crosley
