Have you ever wondered why the plebes (regular people) will go to the mat for the rich, and defend them to the death?
What is it about the psychology of the plebes that enables the rich to lead them to their death in useless wars decade after decade, century after century?
It is tremendously aggravating, so we should ask why this is so.
Many people have written about this subject, and the consensus seems to come down to brainwashing.
People have been programmed to believe in false ideas.
First, that the rich are wealthier, because they are snarter, and because they are smarter, they have more license to rule.
There is some truth to this, and yet there is much false thinking also. Yes, it is true that Henry Ford was smart enough to invent an automobile that would be adopted by the masses in that it would make their lives easier. But that does not mean that Henry Ford was smarter than the average person in deciding, matters of education, healthcare or fields, unrelated to automobile engineering.
The same can be said for billionaires today. Bill Gates may have been smarter than the average bear with regard to computer operating systems, but that does not mean that he is smarter than you with regard to what to do about your child’s education, or the vaccines that are being placed into your child’s body.
Second, that these wealthy people are products of a competitive rags to riches capitalist system, and that denouncing them is akin to denouncing opportunity and hope. The alternative is communism.
Again, there is much truth to this, but alas, much false thinking resides here also.
The obvious argument here is that these wealthy people may not be products of a competitive system at all. Indeed, many of these wealthy people got wealthy not because they competed in the open market, but because they knew someone in the government. In other words, they were and are crony capitalists – otherwise known as socialists.
In fact in the United States today, crony capitalism is more the rule than the exception.
Third, that the rich are inherently and genetically superior people.
Much energy is spent in the media promoting this myth. After all these are the people who are talked about. You as a regular person are not talked about. This constant programming from the media has an impact on your mind.
And it is ubiquitous. you cannot escape it.
Even in a Hollywood movie you are programmed. Most geniuses in a movie come from Harvard University or MIT. And yet, Albert Einstein went to a regular school. Steve Jobs went to a regular school. Thomas Edison was homeschooled by his mother.
The New York Times regularly publishes the wedding, announcements and baby announcements of people who graduate from Harvard and Yale. Why would this be so. Many of these people do not even live in the New York area., So why is this of importance to anyone? They aren’t. These announcements exist to program you into believing that these people are important and you are not.
The quotidian goings on of the Hasty Pudding club are regularly reported in every two bit rag in the United States. Why should the people of Laredo, Texas (where I first heard of the Hasty Pudding club) be regaled with the stories of this irrelevant acting troupe? To program the people of Laredo, Texas into thinking that these people are important and that they are not
Well, if these elites are inherently superior people, then why are we constantly fighting these wars? Why do we have so many homeless people? Why do we have so many problems in society? Why do we have massive problems with immigration? Why are so many of our citizens drug addled?
Fourth, that as good Christians, we should abide by the principles of Christianity and get along with our neighbors – the rich. That it is in accordance with Christianity not to quarrel too much.
While it is true that Christianity values non-confrontation, it is not true that Jesus was a doormat. Jesus was the ultimate confronter who rebelled against the existing order when the existing order was not working for him and fellow members of his community.
Nevertheless, many people go along because they want to be a good egg. The rich, play on this. Indeed, they count on this.
Fifth, that the rich are just like us. Why, they are just regular people.
No, they are not. They are not like us at all. The rich have been consumed by greed. They are addicted to power and money. That is their God.
Is it any wonder given these forces listed above why the poor will defend the rich? It is not surprising at all. Indeed, the rich own the minds of the poor through the media. And they always have. And they might always do so into the future?
There may be nothing we can do to stop it.
To stop it we must first break the harmful codependency that exists between the rich and plebes.
In this destructive codependency, the rich agree to abuse, the plebes, and the plebes agreed to be abused by the rich.
It’s no different than the destructive codependency that exists between an abusive husband and his spouse.
The wife who is being abused, feels as if she did something wrong to deserve the abuse being heaped upon her. The abuser cannot forgive himself for treating his wife so poorly, and so makes up for this by abusing her even more.
François de La Rochefoucauld stated as much when he said: People will readily forgive you for the transgressions that you commit against them. Seldom will they forgive you for the transgressions that they commit against you.
Second, we must come to understand that there is a sucker born every minute. Literally.
It’s a fact of life that people die. It’s a fact of life that new people are born. New people are not born with experience. It takes 20 years to walk around the political block in order to understand what is going on. The people who are less than 20years, have no idea how evil, cunning and vindictive the rich are. The people between 20 and 40 are beginning to get an idea. The people between 40 and 60 have a more solid idea. The people between 60 and 80 are getting near death. The people over 80 are most likely dead.
The rich play on this dynamic. They know they can fool the majority of the population.
Third we must realize that the rich having emaciated, the population have created an economic dependency such that the plebes will readily sell their soul for a few breadcrumbs of money – or recognition from a national media that the rich own and manage.
Fourth, we must walk away from the national media, controlled by the wealthy elite who control the minds of men through their celebrity puppets (their bought off, kept men and women).
Fifth, we must do as Jesus did, and renounce a crown. We must renounce all awards which are nothing more than tools of the manipulator who doles out awards in order to control the minds of men. “See here, plebes,, this is an important man, a smart man. Listen to him. He has won an award. He is better than you. Listen to his message of war.”
Knowing all this we stand a chance at prosperity.
Sincerely,
Archer Crosley
