I hate getting started on this, but after watching so many hours of the Karen Read trial, I like everyone else feel compelled to give my opinion.
I am apalled by this verdict.
My feelings of anger are only surpassed by the contempt I have for the fans of Karen Read, who persist in believing that she was the victim of a wide conspiracy.
Presumably the Karen Read supporters have an ax to grind about some injustice that was done to them earlier in their lives.
They seem all too ready to want to dump on the police.
And they keep repeating to each other, “Well, it could’ve easily been me.”
What!?
What are you talking about Mr. and Mrs. Karen Read supporter?
It certainly couldn’t have been you because you didn’t run over John O’Keefe with your car. She did.
Now, if there was something there even close, even remotely close, to supporting the conspiracy theory I could understand your point of view.
But there is nothing and I mean absolutely nothing to support a wider conspiracy.
And there is everything to support the belief that John O’Keefe was struck by Karen Read’s vehicle.
What do we need to see to make that conclusion?
Number one, John O’Keefe gets out of the car at 12:36, and within 10 or 15 seconds the steps as recorded by his cell phone stop. Those steps do not resume until after his body is found at somewhere between six and 6:15 in the morning.
Number two, the temperature as recorded by John O’Keefe‘s cell phone drops in temperature until it is recovered at the same time between six and 6:15 in the morning. This is the knockout punch for the conspiracy theory. The fact that the phone is falling in temperature means that John O’Keefe was never in the Albert house. Never. He was outside in the snow.
Had John O’Keefe gone into the house, the temperature would have come back to normal. If the Alberts had killed him and dragged him back out to the front yard, we would have seen more steps as recorded by John O’Keefe’s phone.
We see none of these.
And we know that the Alberts and the McCabes do not have the technological sophistication to alter the cell phone data.
Now, of course, this does not mean that Karen hit him. It is possible that he got out of the car and then as she left, he slipped, hit the back of his head and and then died after which a random animal -another dog, a rodent, a possum – came by and chewed or pawed on his arm.
But, this did not happen, and we know this did not happen because we have another piece of evidence. There were micropieces of plastic embedded into John O’Keefe‘s clothes which were matched to Read’s taillight.
This clinches the conviction.
John O’Keefe was hit by Karen Read’s vehicle. Case closed.
OK, so how did the scratches occur on his arm?
This is speculation, but it seems likely that these micro pieces of plastic first became embedded into John O’Keefe’s clothing. When John O’Keefe was thrust back onto the grass in a pirouette motion, he most likely rolled and slid before he came to his final position.
This dragging of the arm against the embedded, micro plastics in his hoodie are the most likely cause of these scratches.
Regardless of what the dog experts say, those bite marks do not conform to the bite width of Chloe the dog or any other animal.
These bite marks do not even look like puncture wounds. They appear as abrasions. And those abrasions certainly can be caused by the arm being dragged over the clothing as John O’Keefe is rolled and dragged.
Now, at the risk of sounding arrogant, this is the way it happened.
You, Karen Read supporters have done a grave injustice to our system of jurisprudence.
You created a climate of juror intimidation.
And you persisted in your idiotic theory, even as the science ruled against you.
But this didn’t matter to you.
You dug in your heels and you kept pushing.
Well, you won, you got what you wanted.
Through your efforts, you have made our system more unjust than it would’ve been if you had just kept your mouth shut.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Archer Crosley
