Here it is, baby! The truth you don’t want to handle.

Warning: It’s safer to go back to mainstream media where you can look the other way as America slaughters the world.

Aaaaaargh!

Please lie to me, Walt. I’m begging you. Please give me a quick fix of The Little Mermaid now! Tell me that we Americans are always the good guys and that the rest of the people of the world are a pack of suffering animals who require Americans to bestow our beautiful democracy upon them.

The Fall and Rise of the New York Jets

I wish I had a way of reaching out to Robert Saleh, the coach of the Jets.

It pains me to feel his pain and not to be able to do anything about it.

As you may know, the Jets got bitch-slapped once again yesterday by the Miami Dolphins.

To make matters worse, this humiliation occurred in their own house.

Jets fans are devastated, and I am sure Robert Saleh is devastated as well.

I am sure the players feel devastated .

Nobody give likes to get bitch-slapped.

I know, I know, it’s an ugly word, but it is a word that accurately describes what happened.

No other word in the English language can fill the bill.

As I have stated before, continuity is more important than winning games at this point for the New York Jets.

Everybody wants to win games, I get it

But, the Jets have got to get out of the habit of cutting and running while looking for a messiah to win games.

No more messiahs.

I know this from personal experience in watching the Philadelphia Eagles for so many decades.

Messiahs in sports don’t work.

What works is a slower approach.

The first thing the Jets need to do is to develop a brand for their team, a brand that can live on for decades

What kind of team are we?

What kind of team will sell here in New York?

What do New Yorkers expect in their team?

Then the Jets need to patiently work toward building that brand by training the players to fill that brand while drafting newer players who are more compatible to that brand.

What is that brand?

That is for Robert Saleh and his team to develop.

The important thing is that at this point in time continuity is more important than winning games.

They need to get out of the habit of blaming people.

You can’t put the losses on Zach Wilson, Allen Lazard, or any other player because in truth, everybody on the team needs to improve.

Everybody on the Jets stinks from the head coach to the water boy.

Teams win, and teams lose.

It’s a team game.

It’s the team’s responsibility to overcome all obstacles, internal and external that are presented to it in its quest to score more points than the opposition. As such the team is always responsible for the win or the loss.

Of course, this is all stuff that I have stated before.

So where do the Jets go from here?

As bad as things are the most important thing to do is not panic.

Panic at this point is worse than doing something for the sake of doing something.

Lately the Jets have begun to crack at the seams.

Calm is important here. The Jets need to calm down. It’s not the end of the world. Nobody is dying here. The sun is going to come up tomorrow.

Second, the Jets need to reinstate Allen Lazard, Zach Wilson and anyone else who has been singled out.

Third, Robert Saleh needs to fix his bayonet and admit to the press, the players and the fans that, yes, they stink, but at least they are a team that stinks. They are unified on that point, and that whatever happens they will do it as a team.

The players need to hear that, and so do do the fans and the press.

Victory is forged in the crucible of defeat.

Sincerely,

Archer Crosley
