Our national nightmare known as election season once again is upon us.
And once again two unqualified puppets of the oligarchy,Trump and Biden, are going to be our choices for president.
What will ensue – no matter who gets elected – is another four years of nothing substantive being done to solve problems in healthcare, immigration, foreign wars, homelessness, rampant drug use, polarization of wealth, runaway corporatism, you name it.
Nevertheless, hundreds of millions of people will be deluded and then marched like drones into believing that elections matter and that there is a difference between the two candidates.
Elections don’t matter, and it’s safe to say that they never did. Democracy is an illusion created by the powers to be to stave off open revolt in the streets.
But, just for the sake of comedic argument, let’s say that they do matter.
There is not a dime’s worth a difference between Biden and Trump because both candidates are controlled by the Corporate Party.
I don’t care what comes out of their mouths.
I don’t care what Sean Hannity says.
I don’t care what Anderson Cooper says.
Both Biden and Trump are puppets.
None of these two candidates will address the root causes of our problems. They will not address root causes because Corporate America has no desire for candidates to discuss issues intelligently.
Why does Corporate America not desire to address root causes?
Because Corporate America and its poor practices are the root cause.
When it comes to immigration, we should ask why these people are coming here? Now, of course, Sean Hannity and his kind will try to tell you that they are coming here for the benefits.
But they’re not coming for the benefits. They’re coming here in order to survive.
They can’t survive in Central America because Corporate America has made their lives miserable down there through exploitation and pollution. Thanks to the one sided CAFTA-DR agreement, the people have a little recourse to change things, to make their lives better.
Essentially, they live in poverty.
They live in poverty because Corporate America conspires with the wealthy landowners and our US puppets who control their government, to suppress their wages.
You here in the United States want cheap bananas and cheap coffee. Corporate America responds by making sure that nobody down there makes a decent wage.
So you will pay less for bananas, but you will more than make up for that savings by the increased taxes you will pay in order to support newly arriving immigrants.
It would be far better off for you as an American to pay a little bit more for bananas and coffee so that the people down there will have a nice place to live.
When poverty arises, gangs, violence and bad behavior thrives. This makes living conditions even more intolerable.
When you compound that with an international agreement called CAFTA-DR in which the United States, controlled by corporate interests. makes a one-sided agreement with a Central American leader-puppet who the US controls, this makes matters even worse.
CAFTA-DR stands for Central America Free Trade Agreement –
Dominican Republic.
It is a bad agreement.
Here are three ways that CAFTA-DR hurts the people of Central America.
It allows major US corporations to dump cheap corn and rice into these countries. The small independent farmers cannot compete in price and therefore go out of business. Such an event happened in Mexico, where approximately 1 million workers were thrown off their small family farms. This freed up plenty of workers to either come here, or join El Chapó with whom they could grow coca leaf and marijuana which could then be exported to the United States. Some of them I imagine became pretty good killers as well – thus the violence in Mexico.
CAFTA-DR allows major US pharmaceutical firms to gain a monopoly in the drugs that are sold in the country. In other words, less generic drugs are sold. These brand-name drugs are often more expensive and sometimes cost prohibitive. This leads to the declining health of the population. It also leads to greater despair and therefore greater motivation, to come to the United States.
CAFTA-DR allows US and other international corporations to sue the local governments if they pass regulations that hinder corporate profits. Many of these regulations pertain to the environment.
So if a mining company, which uses cyanide in order to extract gold, pollutes the environment and the local government passes legislation prohibiting, such, the corporation can sue the government.
All of this produces an economically less viable society.
It ultimately leads to greater poverty and despair. This leads to the rise of gangs which furthers the despair.
Indeed, things are so bad in Central America that even the gang members are leaving.
This helps explain why we have such massive immigration across our southern border.
Solving the problem is not a matter of building a wall.
No wall, no matter how high will stop these people from leaving Central America.
What will stop them from leaving is when we adopt a different foreign policy, one that does not involve exploitation.
We need to give these people a stake in the game.
When we give them a stake in the game, they will prosper and we will prosper.
That’s basic Christianity. When you help others, you help yourself.
Do any of our candidates explain this when discussing immigration, they do not.
They do not because Corporate America would be offended.
Corporate America desires to keep things going as they are.
That’s why they give you puppet candidates like Trump and Biden.
Neither of them will a do damn thing to fix things.
That’s why our elections are a joke.
That’s why our election process is our national nightmare.
Sincerely,
Archer Crosley
