July 4th

On this July 4, let’s not forget what this holiday is all about. It’s about independence, not obedience.

Your Orwellian, warmongering federal government which sold its soul to Corporate America long ago would prefer to have you believe that you are being un-American when you stand up to their lies and expose the truth.

One such “American” who stood up to them was Julian Assange of Wikileaks. He pulled the curtain back and revealed who our elites truly are: greedy, corporate warmongers and murderers. Time and again Assange did what our co-opted, lackey mainstream media refused to do.

He embarrassed our evil government; and they in turn went to their ally, Great Britain, the country of King George, the enemies of our Founding Fathers, and threw him in one of their filthy prisons – Belmarsh Prison – where he sits today.

Although Julian Assange is Australian, he is truly American in spirit. Because he is rotting in Belmarsh Prison, at the behest of the United States, pending extradition to the United States, he should enjoy the privileges that our Bill of Rights guarantees.

The Sixth Amendment grants us the right to a speedy trial. Given Assange’s prolonged stay in Belmarsh Prison, it would be safe to conclude that our authorities couldn’t care less about the Bill of Rights.

That sounds par for the course.

When you blast a firecracker this July 4th, set one off for independence; set one off for a true American – Julian Assange.
