What’s going on in Syria?
What’s going on in the larger Middle East?
What’s going on in Syria is what Benjamin Netanyahu referred to on October 8, 2023.
He said that the Middle East was going to look completely different.
As a member of the club, a graduate f MIT, and the leader of Israel, he was obviously informed that the map would be redrawn.
And so it will be.
There is a ruling class in the world today, that thrives off war and chaos, and they have decided that the Middle East will look different.
They didn’t like the existing arrangement, the Sykes-Picot agreement to divide up the old Ottoman Empire, that their predecessors made over a century ago, and so they decided to change it.
They are not asking for your opinion.
They don’t care what you think.
They don’t care what I think.
They are going to do what they want to do, and we are along for the ride, as we have been for nearly every major war in the past 100 years and longer.
If I had family members there, I would tell them to get out of there as quickly as possible.
The United States spokesmen are currently reveling over the fall of Assad – as if peace will rain in Syria.
I certainly hope so.
But I am not hopeful.
Our ruling class is addicted to chaos and war.
They are chaos junkies, war junkies.
Their habit must be fed.
I anticipate that Syria in the Middle East, already a FUBAR, will erupt in even greater chaos.
Apparently, everybody is on board, everybody being the Americans, the Russians, the Turks, the radicals, Al Jolani – probably even the local girl scout troops.
Well, why wouldn’t they be?
We aren’t living in an age where we have legitimate adversaries that might wipe each other out.,
No, we are living in an age where the same ruling class funds both sides of the war. In that manner, the ruling class makes money whoever wins.
With that stated, we must immediately leave Syria.
If we do not, we are going to get our ass kicked.
True to its Ottoman roots, Syria is a Byzantine labyrinth of intrigue and disaster.
It’s an Abbott and Costello routine: Who’s on first?
We don’t know, and that’s all the more reason to get out.
If we stay, we will conclude quite painfully in 20 years that Hafez al-Assad and Bashar al-Asaad knew something that we currently do not: the area is ungovernable short of an iron fist.
Let us be mindful of the ruthless Assyrian king, Ashurbanipal, who in his cruelty made the Aztecs look like Boy Scouts.
That is who we are dealing with.
Now, this is an AI blurb from Google:
Byzantine” is often used to mean “labyrinthine” because the historical Byzantine Empire was perceived as having a complex, intricate, and often secretive political system, with many layers of bureaucracy and intrigue, leading to the association with a maze-like structure like a labyrinth; this negative connotation developed over time, particularly in Western historical interpretations of the empire.
Many decades ago, the CIA tried to mount a cohesive rebellion against Fidel Castro. They worked with many expat Cuban groups in order to achieve this end. Ultimately the CIA was unsuccessful. They were unsuccessful because there were too many Cuban groups who were at odds with each other politically and emotionally.
Syria will be no different.
Now, this quagmire will not be painful to the ruling class who will make vast amounts of money, no matter what happens.
The pain will be felt by the people in the United States of America.
It is the quagmire that keeps on giving.
Sincerely
