What does Trump offer that people find attractive? Why do people follow him?
What Trump offers is the idea that Americans can get a better shake in life.
That is what he offers. That is what he promotes – a dream.
Does he deliver?
If there exists evidence to suggests that he does not deliver, and there exists plenty of that, then why do people still follow him?
He continues to attract large crowds, so what gives?
His followers continue to crave him just as the junkie craves the drug dealer.
Trump is a drug dealer doling out daily doses of funny one-liners – the political equivalent of crack cocaine.
Hey, watch what Trump said about Biden. And how about that comment about Pelosi? Wasn’t that hilarious?
Each day brings a new irresistible high.
Each day demands a higher dose of the addicting junk.
This junk costs money though.
The currency paid does not come from real cash, but from the printed funny kind that the Fed magically gins up every day of the week to support the shenanigans of his administration.
Not only has Trump not ended the foreign wars, he has created a new war, the coronavirus war; only in this case, the enemy is the American people.
The neat trick about this war is that the American people are paying for their own demise.
And that demise will come. That demise is happening right now.
Unfortunately, the addict is always the last person to see that he is addicted.
Even as the addict descends into a state of poverty and despair, he is unable to see that he has a problem.
One only needs to look around to see the devastation that Donald Trump has caused.
The economy is in chaos. It is not coming back soon.
The hospitality industry is destroyed. The airline industry is destroyed. The restaurant industry is destroyed. Healthcare has taken a huge hit. Car sales are down.
These are huge segments of the population that when not functioning act as an anchor upon the economy threatening to drag a boat in a stormy sea down.
People are walking around in masks that have no basis in science.
False hope for an unproven and potentially unsafe vaccine is promoted.
The dogs and cats in your neighborhood have it better than you. They are at least free.
In spite of this, the people believe. And they will continue to believe until they can pay no more.
Instead of meat and potatoes, Trump serves up a steady diet of cotton candy devoid of substance.
Just as Trump bankrupted his casinos, he is now bankrupting the nation and the American people.
There is no convincing the addicts. To this day, people line up their cars to travel in the Trump Train.
They drive aimlessly around town.
But where is the train going? Not one of his followers can point to a comprehensive plan that Trump is prosecuting.
Regardless of what you think about Joe Biden, he was correct on one salient point in the debate: Trump has no plan for healthcare.
That’s right. Trump had four years to develop a health care plan. He has no plan.
Do you know what Trump’s plan is?
It should be obvious. Trump is an entertainer. He’s a drug dealer. His job is to sell you a new high, an escape, a dream.
That’s what Trump is all about – a dream.
The problem with Trump is that his dream has no backing behind it.
